The Crimson Rosella of the Great Dividing Range and Yellow Rosella of the Murray Basin are one biological species. They hybridise or interbreed wherever they meet. The only marked difference between them is in colour tone - either red, orange or yellow. Otherwise - in colour pattern, habits, calls and even genetics - these rosellas are alike.
