With a wing-span of up to 2.5 metres, the Wedge-tailed Eagle is the largest bird of prey in Australia and one of the largest eagles in the world. Wedge-tails are often seen up to 2 kilometres above the ground, soaring effortlessly on rising warm air currents. They have amazing eyesight, estimates suggest that they can distinguish a rabbit from its surroundings from 1.5 kilometres away!
